Yield Challenge Contest Rules

  1. The DEKALB® Seed for Yourself Yield Challenge (the “Contest”) is open to legal residents of Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick who are at least the age of majority in his or her province of residence, and have farmed at least ten (10) acres of DEKALB® brand corn or DEKALB® brand soybeans during the 2016 growing season; Employees, representatives or agents of Monsanto Canada Inc. (the “Sponsor”), its affiliates and subsidiaries, seed company licensees, advertising and promotion agents, any reseller of crop chemicals, or those residing with any of the foregoing are not eligible to enter
  2. Entrants will submit their 2016 yield results after harvest of their DEKALB brand corn or DEKALB brand soybean for the chance to win the prize.  There will be one (1) corn winner and one (1) soybean winner from each of the eight (8) DEKALB territories (for a list of DEKALB territories please see the map attached). To be a corn yield winner, the submitted corn yield must be the highest corn yield in the DEKALB territory in which it was obtained. To be a soybean yield winner, the submitted soybean yield must be the highest soybean yield in the DEKALB territory in which it was obtained. Limit to one challenge win per entrant. The same entrant cannot win both the corn and soybean yield challenge.

Entrants must enter and submit harvest results for the contest no later than November 25, 2016 via email to marcus.s.moore@monsanto.com, by fax to (204) 985-1030, by mail to 900 – One Research Road, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 6E3, or directly to their DEKALB representative.  Entrants who have registered, but do not submit harvest results by November 25, 2016 will not be eligible for the contest. PLEASE NOTE: leading harvest results may be posted online at www.DEKALB.ca and/or through social media, such as Facebook or Twitter as they come in, however, until a winner is announced, only the DEKALB Territory and the bushel per acre results will be identified, not names or other personal information.
  5. By enrolling in this Contest, entrants agree to the following crop requirements:

    Corn:
    A 10 acre field size minimum is required and harvested bushels must be a minimum of 1.5 acres within the same field.
    A DEKALB Dealer or DEKALB representative must be present at time of weigh off for verification, and crop must be weighed off in the field using a weigh wagon, calibrated grain cart or, the crop may be weighed in a wagon on a commercial scale.
    Yield of harvested bushels is required to be corrected to 15.5% moisture, and be recorded in bushels per acre.

    Soybean:
    A 10 acre field size minimum is required and harvested bushels must be a minimum of 1.5 acres within the same field.
    A DEKALB Dealer or DEKALB representative must be present at time of weigh off for verification, and crop must be weighed off in the field using a weigh wagon, calibrated grain cart or, the crop may be weighed in a wagon on a commercial scale.
    Yield of harvested bushels is required to be corrected to 13% moisture, and be recorded in bushels per acre.
  6. Winners of the Contest in each DEKALB territory will be eligible for the following prize:

    A travel voucher valued at up to $2000 from Carlson Wagonlit Travel (the “Prize”).  Travel must be booked through Carlson Wagonlit Travel no later than April 1, 2017 and completed by December 31, 2017.  Other terms and conditions of Carlson Wagonlit Travel apply.  Prize is not transferable.  The Prize cannot be substituted for cash. Winner must be at least the age of majority in his or her province of residence.
    There will be a total of sixteen (16) prizes available.
  7. On or about November 28, 2016 each potential winner will be contacted by phone.  If the potential winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 7 days of the first notification attempt, is found to be ineligible, does not comply with these Official Rules or declines to accept the Prize, such potential winner may be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion, and an alternate entrant may be selected.
  8. Potential winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release within 7 days of its having been sent. Failure to do so will result in potential winner automatically forfeiting their prize and nothing will be offered in its place.  Upon receiving the signed affidavit, the winner will be contacted by a local DEKALB representative, who will deliver the prize to the winner no later than February 1, 2017. The winner also grants Sponsor the right to use winner’s name, city of business operation, winner’s image or likeness, the winning yield results and any statements made by the winner in connection with the Contest and DEKALB products, for advertising, publicity and promotion purposes, including print, broadcast, online and social media announcements, without notice or further compensation other than the Prize and at no expense to the winner.
  9. By entering this Contest, entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding on all matters related to the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to change the Official Rules or withdraw the Contest at any time and for any reason.   These Official Rules are subject to change without notification at Sponsor’s sole discretion.  This contest is subject to all federal and provincial laws and regulations.  Entrant further agrees that Sponsor, including its agents, representatives and those associated with them may communicate with entrant regarding his or her participation in the Contest via electronic message or otherwise.
  10. Sponsor, including its agents, representatives and those associated with them, are not responsible for any entry, Prize winning notification or the claim for Prize, which is lost, misdirected or which arrives late, as the case may be, whether or not due to the fault of Sponsor or of any other person or thing.
  11. By entering, each entrant agrees to hold harmless Sponsor, participating sponsors, and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agencies from any liability whatsoever, and waive and release such parties from any and all causes of action, for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional) arising out of or in connection with the event or acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of any prize, participation in any promotion-related activity, or participation in the promotion, whether under a theory of contract, torts (including, without limitation, negligence), warranty, or any other theory or cause of action.

Contest rules for DEKALB Plot Tour: Hawaiian Edition.

Official Rules

  1. The DEKALB® Plot Tour: Hawaiian Edition (the “Contest”) begins on or about 8:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) on Monday June 20, 2016 and ends on or about 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday September 30, 2016 (the “Contest Period”). The Contest is being conducted by Monsanto Canada Inc. (“Sponsor”).
  2. No purchase necessary. Contest is open to Canadian residents, 18 years of age or older, who have farmed a minimum of 10 acres of corn, soybeans or canola during the 2016 growing season. Employees, representatives or agents of Sponsor, its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agents, and those residing with the foregoing are not eligible to enter.
  3. During the Contest Period, eligible entrants may enter by filling in an official entry form (electronically on an iPad or by on a paper ballot) during an official tour of one of the DEKALB Market Development Cooperator or Technology Development sites. Interested potential entrants can ask their local DEKALB representative or local DEKALB dealer for tour dates and locations. Limit one (1) entry per person. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the status of any entry. Entries that do not comply with the terms of the Contest will result in disqualification. Incomplete or illegible entries will not be considered. Entries void if electronically or mechanically reproduced, forged, defective, altered or obtained through unauthorized channels or if they contain production, typographical, electronic, mechanical or other errors.
  4. On October 3, 2016 at approximately 10:00 am CDT the Sponsor will conduct a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on number of entries received.
  5. The draw will be for a paid trip for two (2) and a seven (7) nights stay in Maui, Hawaii, valued at approximately $5,000. Prize includes coach class airfare and accommodations for two people at the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali Hotel in Maui, Hawaii. It will also include a $500 Visa gift card for food and attractions. One of the days will be spent visiting the Monsanto Maui facility, as well as visiting the plots on site. Prize does not include transportation to and from airport or any other expenses related to the prize. Travel must be booked through Sponsor’s travel agent, Carlson Wagonlit, no later than December 1, 2016 and completed by March 1, 2016. Other terms and conditions of Carlson Wagonlit apply. Prize is not transferable. The Prize cannot be substituted for cash.
  6. The winner will be contacted by phone on October 3, 2016 by the Sponsor. If the potential winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 7 days of the first notification attempt, is found to be ineligible, does not comply with these Official Rules or declines to accept the Prize, such potential winner may be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion, and in such case Sponsor will select an alternate winner in a random drawing from remaining eligible entries.
  7. To be an actual winner, that person must correctly answer a skill-testing question that will be administered at the time of winning notification and be in compliance with these Official Rules. Potential winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release within14 days of its having been sent. Failure to do so will result in potential winner automatically forfeiting their prize and nothing will be offered in its place. The winner also grants Sponsor the right to use winner’s name, city of business operation, and winner’s image or likeness for advertising, publicity and promotion purposes, including print, broadcast, online and social media announcements, without notice or further compensation other than the Prize and at no expense to the winner
  8. By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned by reason of, and not limited to, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other cause that Sponsor or its agents deem could corrupt or affect the administration, fairness or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the Contest and select the winners from among the eligible entries received prior to the action, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations.
  9.
